Confirm your engine

• Engine code: L83, L82 and L84 engines are not interchangeable. Check the 8th digit of your VIN (C = L83, F = L82, D = L84) or the RPO code on the glove-box sticker, and choose your engine code from the dropdown.

Send us your VIN if you are not sure.

Notes

• Many 2021 L82 trucks were built with AFM disabled at the factory (RPO YK9 on the glove-box sticker).
• Built with stock (OEM-style) cylinder heads matched to your engine code; send us your VIN so we match the correct heads.

AFM / DFM: factory or delete build

Choose your build from the dropdown:

• Factory build (AFM/DFM retained) - $3,999. Built with cylinder deactivation as it came from the factory (AFM on the L83 / L82, DFM on the L84). The AFM/DFM valley cover (lifter oil manifold with the AFM/DFM solenoids) is an electronic part and is not included. We recommend replacing your original with a new one.
• AFM/DFM delete build - $4,599. Cylinder deactivation removed. Includes the AFM delete valley plate and installed oil galley plugs. A delete build requires a tune, which is not included. Contact us about tuning.

Built in our full-service in-house machine shop. Reused and remachined: connecting rods, crankshaft and cylinder heads. New OEM or aftermarket parts: bearings, rings, pistons, lifters, valves, timing components, camshafts, rockers and more.

• Machined, milled and polished internals (crankshaft, block, cylinder bores)
• All new bearings and parts: main and rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, head gaskets, oil pump, timing set and guides
• Cylinder heads fully machined: 3-angle performance valve job including seats, diamond mill finish, new valve seals

• Business with dock/forklift or terminal pickup: free
• Business without dock (lift gate): +$100
• Residential (includes lift gate): +$300

Shipping is free within the Continental United States to commercial addresses with a forklift/dock or terminal pickup. If the delivery address doesn't match the delivery type selected, the difference will be charged before shipping. Alaska & Hawaii: online checkout isn't available for engines shipping to AK or HI. Break-in

The first 1,000 miles are the break-in period. Use conventional oil only, change the oil and filter at 500 miles, vary your RPM, and avoid towing, heavy loads and long idling. Check your oil level regularly, since some oil burn-off is normal until the rings seat. Following the break-in procedure is required to keep your warranty.

Warranty, core and performance parts

Warranty: 1-year unlimited-mile warranty on the engine only; labor is not covered. Optional 3-year extended warranty available for $1,500 (includes labor coverage at $50/hr). See our Warranty & Refund Policy. Add the 3-year extended warranty to your order.

Core charge: none. All engines are built to order.

Performance parts: we do not blueprint engines. We can install custom or performance parts you supply (you pay for the parts and shipping them to us; no extra installation charge), but this waives the 1-year warranty.
