Remanufactured Cummins 6.7L 24-valve common-rail diesel long block for 2007.5-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 cab and chassis trucks. Zero miles, built to order, free shipping. $2,000 refundable core charge (added as a separate core item at checkout).

Rockers and pushrods included. Reconditioned rocker arms and pushrods are part of the long block, so you don't have to transfer them from your old engine. Some long blocks on the market leave them out.

Build time: usually 7-10 days, plus shipping (contact us for current availability).

Fitment

Vehicle Years Choose "Truck"
Ram 2500 pickup 2007.5-2018 Pickup (2500/3500)
Ram 3500 pickup (single or dual rear wheel) 2007.5-2018 Pickup (2500/3500)
Ram 3500 Chassis Cab 2007-2018 Cab & Chassis (3500/4500/5500)
Ram 4500 / 5500 Chassis Cab 2008-2018 Cab & Chassis (3500/4500/5500)

Choose your model year (2007.5-2012 or 2013-2018; a 2007 cab and chassis uses 2007.5-2012) and your truck type above. Dodge switched to the 6.7L Cummins in January 2007, so a 2007 Ram pickup can have either engine. Early 2007 pickups with the 5.9L need our 5.9L common rail long block.

Confirm your engine

  • Model year: 2013-2018 engines use different pistons (redesigned bowl) and piston cooling nozzles than 2007.5-2012 engines. The pistons must match your year.
  • Pickup or cab and chassis: Cab and chassis engines get the same parts and machine work as pickup engines, with the correct camshaft for your truck. From 2013 on, cab and chassis engines (3500/4500/5500) use a different camshaft than pickups, so choose your truck type above.
  • Standard or High Output (2013-2018): Fits both Standard Output (68RFE) and High Output (Aisin) 2013–2018 Ram pickups. Same long block; your truck's computer sets the power rating. The flexplate transfers from your old engine.

Send us your VIN or engine serial number with your order to confirm fitment. Not sure which to choose? Call (623) 204-6365 or put your VIN and any questions in the order notes, and we'll confirm before we build.

Have a 2019 or newer 6.7? Those use a different engine design. Call (623) 204-6365 to ask about a special-order build.

Not covered

  • 2019 and newer 6.7L Cummins (new block, crankshaft, rods, head and lifters): call us, see above
  • 5.9L Cummins (2003-early 2007 common rail): see our 5.9L long block

What's included

  • Machined, milled and polished internals (crankshaft, block, cylinder bores)
  • All new bearings and parts: main and rod bearings, pistons (matched to your 2007.5-2012 or 2013-2018 engine), piston rings, camshaft (pickup or cab and chassis, matched to your truck), lifters, timing gears, gaskets and oil pump
  • Reconditioned rocker arms and pushrods
  • Cylinder head fully machined: valve job with new valve seals

Optional add-ons and upgrades

Fuel injectors, the CP3 fuel pump and the water pump are not included with the long block. Add any of these to your order. Your choice: we install them before the engine ships, or ship them loose in the crate. The head stud upgrade is installed only.

Injectors differ by year and between pickups and cab and chassis trucks, so we match them to your truck by VIN or engine serial number.

Not included

  • Oil pan and covers, oil pickup tube, vibration damper, front cover/gear housing, oil cooler and flexplate. Transfer these from your old engine.
  • Fuel rail and high-pressure lines, turbocharger, manifolds, sensors, wiring and computer (ECM)

Reuse parts from your truck only if they are in good condition; a worn injector or pump can damage a new engine.

Delivery type

  • Business with dock/forklift or terminal pickup: free
  • Business without dock (lift gate): +$100
  • Residential (includes lift gate): +$300

Shipping is free within the Continental United States to commercial addresses with a forklift/dock or terminal pickup. If the delivery address doesn't match the delivery type selected, the difference will be charged before shipping. Alaska & Hawaii: online checkout isn't available for engines shipping to AK or HI. Call 623-204-6365 for a freight quote before ordering. Ships on a pallet in a fully enclosed wooden crate, approx. 1,200 lb crated.

Break-in

A diesel's piston rings seat under load, not at idle. Following these steps is required to keep your warranty.

  • Before the first start: fill with conventional (non-synthetic) 15W-40 heavy-duty diesel oil, pre-fill the oil filter and pre-lube the engine. Fill the cooling system.
  • Prime the fuel system: turn the key to run the lift pump several times before cranking. The high-pressure system bleeds itself, so never open the high-pressure fuel lines. Do not use starting fluid.
  • First start: don't rev it. Run at 1,500-2,000 rpm until the thermostat opens, check oil pressure and look for leaks, then top up the coolant. Keep this first run short (about 5-10 minutes).
  • First 100 miles: don't idle for more than 5 minutes at a time.
  • First 500 miles: drive under a moderate to heavy load (towing or hauling) and vary your RPM and load. Avoid long, unloaded cruising at a steady speed, and don't rev the engine while parked, since that doesn't load the rings. Watch your gauges and check the oil level often.
  • At 500 miles: change the oil and filter.

Long idling or light-load driving during break-in can glaze the cylinders, which leads to oil burning and low power. See our break-in procedure for more.

Warranty, core and performance parts

Warranty: 1-year unlimited-mile warranty on the engine only; labor is not covered. Optional 3-year extended warranty available for $1,500 (includes labor coverage at $50/hr). See our Warranty & Refund Policy. Add the 3-year extended warranty to your order.

Core charge: $2,000, refundable, added at checkout as a separate core item. You have 30 days to return your old engine (core). We pay the return freight: when it's ready, we email you a return label, and you ship the core back on the same pallet your new engine came on.

Performance parts: we do not blueprint engines. We can install custom or performance parts you supply (you pay for the parts and shipping them to us; no extra installation charge), but this waives the 1-year warranty.
