Confirm your engine

• Check the 5th digit of your VIN: Z = 2GR-FKS (this engine family). K = older 2GR-FE, not this engine.
• Your vehicle model and year decide the version. Use the fitment table above and pick the listing for your vehicle.
• Hybrids are not this engine. V6 hybrids use the 2GR-FXS or 2GR-FXE.

With or without vacuum pump?

Choose the vacuum pump option from the dropdown. It is the same engine and the same price; the difference is how the end of one camshaft is sealed:

• With vacuum pump (most trims): trucks with a conventional vacuum brake booster have a vacuum pump bolted to the rear of the passenger-side (right-hand) camshaft housing, driven by the camshaft. The pump shaft plugs an oil opening in the end of the camshaft.
• TRD Off-Road / TRD Pro (no vacuum pump): these trucks use a hydraulic brake booster, so there is no vacuum pump. Instead, a small sealing ball is pressed into the end of the camshaft and a cover plate goes where the pump would be.

If the wrong setup is installed, the camshaft oil opening is either left unsealed (an internal oil leak) or the pump can't be installed. That's why we build it to match your truck. Not sure? Look at the back of the passenger-side cylinder head: a vacuum pump with a hose running to the brake booster means "With vacuum pump." Or send us your VIN.

Which version do I have?

Toyota built the 3.5L V6 2GR-FKS in several versions for different vehicles. They are NOT interchangeable between vehicle types: the timing cover, engine mounting and short block are specific to the layout (Tacoma truck, transverse FWD/AWD cars and SUVs, or Lexus RWD/AWD sedans and coupes). We list each version separately so you get the one that matches your vehicle:

• Toyota 3.5L V6 2GR-FKS Remanufactured Engine (Camry, Avalon, Highlander, Sienna)
• Lexus 3.5L V6 2GR-FKS Remanufactured Engine (RX 350 / ES 350)

Part numbers and casting numbers

We have not been able to verify cast-in casting numbers for the 2GR-FKS versions, so we don't list any. For reference, these are Toyota's short block part numbers for each version (Toyota service part number, not a casting number):

• 2016-2023 Tacoma 2.7L 4-cylinder (2TR-FE), 2005-2015 Tacoma 4.0L V6 (1GR-FE), and 2024+ Tacoma (different engine).

Built in our full-service in-house machine shop. Reused and remachined: connecting rods, crankshaft and cylinder heads. New OEM or aftermarket parts: bearings, rings, pistons, lifters, valves, timing components, camshafts, rockers and more.

Break-in

The first 1,000 miles are the break-in period. Use conventional oil only, change the oil and filter at 500 miles, vary your RPM, and avoid towing, heavy loads and long idling. Check your oil level regularly, since some oil burn-off is normal until the rings seat. Following the break-in procedure is required to keep your warranty.

Warranty and core

Warranty: 1-year unlimited-mile warranty on the engine only; labor is not covered. Optional 3-year extended warranty available for $1,500 (includes labor coverage at $50/hr). See our Warranty & Refund Policy. Add the 3-year extended warranty to your order.
