F-150 owners: COMP Coyote cams are ground for the Mustang firing order (1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8). The F-150 fires 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8, so your tune must change the firing order to the Mustang order. See Required / recommended below.

• Generation and vehicle: choose Gen 1 (2011-2014), Gen 2 (2015-2017) or Gen 3 (2018-2020 Mustang GT) and your vehicle above. Truck and Mustang Coyotes are built differently (intake, compression), so the vehicle matters.
• VIN 8th digit: F (2011-2017 Mustang GT and F-150 5.0L).

Notes

• Ti-VCT is kept on every stage. Gen 1 builds get COMP 5493 phaser limiters; Gen 2 and Gen 3 cams work with the factory phasers without limiters.
• All cams are COMP "NSR" (no springs required) grinds and run on the factory-style valve springs.
• VCT lockout or delete is not a standard option. Call 623-204-6365 to discuss a custom build.
• Cylinder heads are not ported or polished.

Cam stages

Choose your generation and vehicle and stage above. Every cam is a COMP Cams set of four.

Gen 1 (2011-2014): COMP XFI NSR

Gen 2 (2015-2017): COMP CR NSR

Gen 3 (2018-2020 Mustang GT): COMP NSR

• Stage 1: the mildest of the three. Gen 1: good power gains above 4,500 rpm. Gen 3: COMP's pick for the factory intake and stock gearing, especially with an automatic.
• Stage 2: more mid-to-upper rpm power. Gen 1: big gains in the mid-to-upper range, especially above 4,900 rpm. Gen 3: best with increased gearing, headers and intake.
• Stage 3: the most aggressive of the three. Gen 1: a max-effort street/strip cam with strong gains above 5,500 rpm; requires long-tube headers and 3.73 or steeper gears. Gen 3: COMP's Mutha' Thumpr grind, with extra exhaust duration for a lopey, choppy idle; best with long-tube headers.
• Results vary with tune, gearing, exhaust and supporting mods.

Custom / other brand cam (+$300): we can use any make of camshaft you request (COMP, Ford Performance, GSC and more). Custom grinds are non-refundable.

Required / recommended

• Tune required. A tune is required to run the cam (and the Gen 1 phaser limiters). We do not tune.
• F-150 firing order: COMP Coyote cams are ground for the Mustang firing order (1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8). On an F-150 (1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8), the tune must change the firing order to the Mustang order.
• Gen 1 Stage 3: long-tube headers and 3.73 or steeper gears required.
• Gen 3 Stage 2 and Stage 3: headers recommended (long-tube for Stage 3); Stage 2 also benefits from increased gearing and intake.
