• Car/SUV vs. Ram truck: this listing is the car/SUV (SRT, Scat Pack, 392) version. Ram 2500/3500 trucks use a different 6.4L: lower compression (10.0:1 vs. 10.9:1), a top-feed truck intake, different heads, exhaust manifolds, oil pan and accessory layout, and a truck-specific tune. The two are not interchangeable.
• VIN 8th digit: J. The car/SUV and Ram truck 6.4L both use J, so the VIN code alone doesn't tell the two versions apart.

Notes

• MDS: automatic-transmission cars and SUVs came with MDS (cylinder deactivation); manual-transmission cars did not. We build with or without MDS to match your vehicle. Contact us about tuning.
• Hellcat lifters are genuine Mopar non-MDS lifters, so adding them means an MDS delete, and a tune is required. Contact us before ordering.

Built in our full-service in-house machine shop. Reused and remachined: connecting rods, crankshaft and cylinder heads. New OEM or aftermarket parts: bearings, rings, pistons, lifters, valves, timing components, camshafts, rockers and more.

Break-in

The first 1,000 miles are the break-in period. Use conventional oil only, change the oil and filter at 500 miles, vary your RPM, and avoid towing, heavy loads and long idling. Check your oil level regularly, since some oil burn-off is normal until the rings seat. Following the break-in procedure is required to keep your warranty.

Warranty and core

Warranty: 1-year unlimited-mile warranty on the engine only; labor is not covered. Optional 3-year extended warranty available for $1,500 (includes labor coverage at $50/hr). See our Warranty & Refund Policy. Add the 3-year extended warranty to your order.

Core charge: a core is required. Price includes a $1,000 refundable core deposit. Return your old engine within 30 days of delivery, complete and rebuildable (not cracked, holed or seized, main caps included), and we refund the core deposit after inspection. We pick up cores free from a commercial address or freight terminal. All engines are built to order.
